Hi Heritage Christian Academy Families!
My name is Juliet Murphy, RN. The students call me “Nurse Juliet”.
I feel blessed to be the School Nurse at Heritage Christian Academy. I have really enjoyed my job at HCA because I know that prayer is huge in the nurse’s office and we have the privilege to pray with our students when they are hurting or sick.
I became a Registered Nurse in 1999 and have always loved every job! I earned an ADN from BCC in 1999 and a BSN from the UWB in 2000. I completed the School Nurse Certification program at PLU in 2016, earning an ESA. Before working in a school setting, I worked in pulmonary, spine, and orthopedics in the hospital & outpatient settings. I am married and have 3 boys who attend HCA. I have two dogs, a cat and a fish. I love to cook, exercise, snow ski, and watch my boys play sports.
My goal is to keep all of our amazing students safe and healthy, to manage health problems as they arise, and to be a resource to all HCA families. To help me achieve this, please keep me updated about any changes regarding your child's health.
I am here to help take care of minor and complex health needs. Some of our more complex students have diabetes, seizures, heart conditions, mental health issues, tube feeding, catheters, asthma and anaphylaxis.
It has been my goal to create an environment that is healthy for all of the students and staff, especially for people with asthma. I have consulted with the Environmental Health Specialists at the WA State Dept. of Health in regards to cleaning/sanitizing/disinfecting. Most our products are labeled “green seal”, “safer choice”, or “designed for the environment”. We follow the guidance of the AMES manual.
I remain up-to-date on all CDC and Washington State Department of Health communications and will guide you to accurate information.
I am happy to help! Please don’t hesitate to contact me any time with any questions or concerns. Janae Foster is a (parent) volunteer Nurse that is here on Fridays.
