Gratefulness: A host that lives in your heart
Today, we held our monthly character focus combined chapel. Mrs. Fuertes, our preschool director, spoke about gratefulness. She explained that while thankfulness and gratefulness are often used interchangeably, they are actually two different things. Thankfulness is a feeling that depends on external circumstances, whereas gratefulness is an attitude that reflects our inner hearts and acknowledges everything that God has provided for us.
She shared, “When you rely solely on thankful feelings, you stop feeling happy when something is taken away from you.” To illustrate this point, she explained that we can be thankful for our dinner, but we can be grateful for the family we share it with and for God, who continuously provides for all our needs.
Thank you, Mrs. Fuertes, for challenging us all—from our youngest students to the adults in the room—to find opportunities to remember and express gratitude each day.
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
1 Thessalonians 5:18
